This is an exploration of alterations - changes in meaning and understanding brought about by the juxtaposition of consistency and contrast. Based in the key of C, every piece is an exploration of the manner in which variation from a constant can redefine one's engagement and comprehension. Through the use of a constant, variation becomes the defining element. And conversely, the constant is defined by the variation. Thusly the songs are titled - one meaning changes to another by the addition of a constant.
1. Establish a framework.
2. Create distance from (or reduce) the framework.
3. Return to an altered version of original framework.
4. Acknowledge a new understanding of the framework and its constituent constants.
